Warm thanks for all the greetings on my birthday yesterday!!!! I´m overwhelmed by the sheer amount of wishes. 
I hope You will all have a continuously good year - and let us all fight for a world where wildlife and nature are more in focus.
Today I will continue with a new excited group of photographers to seek the wonders of Costa Rica - and maybe .... Mantled Howlers - like the guy on the image.

Giant silk moth (Rothschildia triloba) from the rainforests of Monteverde, Costa Rica. When I shot this image the other day, I was a little doubtful if I should make it "arty" or just descriptive, and decided for the later. This moth is like many other animals and plants so beautiful and magic in itself, so as a photographer I don't need to twist it unnecessarily around.

Small Eyelash wiper from today in the forest of Arenal National Park, Costa Rica. I am happy to be back in this amazing country - world leading in eco-tourism and nature conservation.
Shot with the high performing D810 and the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR Lens  - a real super combo!
The eyelash viper is a venomous pit viper species found in Central and South America. Small and arboreal, these snakes are characterized by their wide array of color variations, as well as the superciliary scales over the eyes.

Time to migrate again - for me. First this year it was Zimbabwe, then Borneo and now the course is set on Costa Rica. Quite hectic at the moment ;)

Time to leave Sabah on Borneo. One of the nature-wonders is the bat-exodus from the Gomantong Caves att nightfall. Millions of bats are streaming out like a never-ending smoke and disappearing into the rainforest night. Hunters are waiting outside, the best being the eminent Bat Hawk. Others are also trying their luck, like the less agile and more heavy Wallace´s Hawk-Eagle. Here trying to snatch a bat in mid-air.

Friday night out ::::::::: what is better than searching for pit-wipers? Here is a "cute" juvenile Waglers Pit-wiper from Sepilok rainforest on Sabah, Borneo. It was one of 3 snakes on the same spot, and a bigger one was hanging right above our heads.
