Out of the dark and in to the blue. Gaur (Indian Bison) is the planets biggest and heaviest member of the ox-family, Bovidae. Shot at night from a walk outside our lodge inside Kanha NP. I wanted the eyes to shine - diabolically.
Home from India again with so many impressions and new images. We will produce a great tour for those interested in feb/march 2015

Tigress from Bandhavgarh National Park. Our days are to an end and we are leaving for Kanha tomorrow on our "scouting" tour. Lots of wildlife, jungle, heat (40 degrees) and I think we found one of best agents in India for wildlife tours. (Image is not cropped).

We are on the move - this crane from last weekend at lake Hornborgasjön. And I´m now at Helsinki airport waiting for the flight to India with Henrik Karlsson.  can now proudly write Jan Pedersen/N. Last weekend I was elected a member of the the Swedish Association for Nature Photographers - Naturfotograferna/N. It is an association of Swedens foremost nature photographers which has promoted ethical photography and a committment to conservation since 1966. Last weekend I also shot this crane image at lake Hornborgasjön, way after sunset - to get the blue light.

Another frame from lake Hornborgasjön last weekend with one of the cranes (Grus grus) coming in from the night roost in the lake. This massive gathering of cranes (approx 19000) is a real wonder of the Scandinavian nature.

From lake Hornborgasjön last weekend. Approximately 19 000 cranes (Grus grus) feeding, socializing and dancing. A real wonder of the Scandinavian nature. Also premiere for the new D4s - this to - being a wonder (the autofokus is finally: fast, precise and accurate where it should be, compared to my old D4).
