The Varanger peninsula is at the most northernly Norway - to the Barents Sea. Arctic climate and freezing cold with strong winds.

It is home to an abundance of seabirds. Especially Arctic ducks with many eiders.

On a tour with photographer Staffan Widstrand, by invitation and sponsorship of local tourism and birdwatching organisations, in the month of march, we had an amazing amount of sea-birds.
